Changes to my YouTube Channel (and a song recommendation)
About three years ago, I felt a tug to start a YouTube channel. I had one motivation: to share the dreams and visions God has given me, as well as stories of incredibly specific provisions He’s brought over the years. And that’s what I did for the first 18 videos. But then … we got a freeze dryer. And I impulsively uploaded a video about that.
Within days that video garnered 17,000 views. And just like that, my head turned and I began churning out videos about freeze drying, interspersed with videos about herbalism, cooking and all-things-home. I never meant to allow the hijacking of my channel … it just happened.
But a few months ago, a song and a challenge righted my perspective. I share the story in the short video below. Suffice it to say, I’m returning to the one and only topic I care to discuss on YouTube: Because time is short.

Amen to that Shannon…!! Thankful for your heartfelt decision to refocus. Coincidentally, just finishing a fictional novel’All that Really Matters’ (Nicole Deese) about an influencer with over 500,000 followers, who, like you, refocuses on how the Lord would have her to be using her talent! You go girl!! We love you…and the WELCOME mate is out for you and Dave.

Bette! How wonderful to see your name pop up! Thank you for the encouragement—-and for sharing that story. Last week I opened YouTube and had a recommendation for a channel I had never watched before. The title of the video was “Is Jesus coming back soon?” so I clicked on it. The woman said, “I’m not going to be doing videos on homemaking, cooking or decorating anymore. I just want to talk about Jesus.” I told her I was in the exact same place. I really feel that the Lord is drawing us all in close and prompting us to keep our focus where it has to be: on His face. I’m excited for whatever is ahead! We would love to see you and Keith. I know we say it all the time, but we really do want to come over to your side of the mountains! Dave retired last week, and I’m retiring at the end of September (just before a trip to Maui with the kids and grandkids for our 40th anniversary 🙂 so we will be much freer to travel here soon. Please say hello to Keith! We love and miss you both!
