Jalapeño Popper Soup (Keto)
This is a Dave-approved soup. That’s all you need to know. I frequently get a “That’s tasty,” or a “Mmm. Good.” But when he says, “Man, oh man, that’s good soup,” I know it’s going in the rotation. I’ve been planning to make this for a long time. I’ve had the rcecipe scribbled on a post-it sitting up near my cookbooks forever. But it was our BLIZZARD (yes, we’re having a blizzard) that made me pull the post-it from its perch and start frying bacon. This recipe is all over the internet; I just added a bit more of this or that, and a few non-negtiables, like onion and garlic.…

Retro Alert: Tuna Noodle Casserole (Plus a Possibly Paleo Salad)
So, this is embarrassing. I fully expected to have a picture for you. A long-shot, for sure, so you could see all that retro cheesiness in its full glory. But at least one close-up, once the first serving had been removed, so you could see all the individual layers of noodles and French fried onions and, yes, more cheese. And probably a very close shot of a forkful of all that deliciousness heading toward my iPhone camera lens. But somebody put it on the potluck table before I could get the long-shot. And by the time I’d wrapped up my conversation and made my way to the line and reached…

Jalapeno Chicken Sausage, Veggie, Almond, Gorgonzola Yumminess
So … I broke down finally and went to see a naturopath yesterday after three years of coaxing and berating by one of my regular doctors. Long, boring story — and not worth getting into. Suffice it to say that according to my dermatologist, something in my diet is making my body angry. When I repeated her diagnosis to the naturopath, he smiled and said that was a very poetic way of stating the situation, but that in essence, she was probably right. As I feared, Dr. Dodge (and I love him, by the way … SO sympathetic and easy to talk to) took me off the things I crave…

Kale Chips
We’re about to make Kale Chips. Go ahead and laugh if you want to … and you know you want to. I’ll wait. tick … tick … tick … tick. Got that out of your system? Good. Now, prepared to be wowed. My sweet friend, Sherri Youngward, turned me on to these. I love Sherri way too much to laugh at her, but when she suggested I try one, I did kind of go “ew” inside. But I took the chip she handed me and ate it dutifully, and I was hooked on the spot. There’s nothing not to love about these. They’re crispy, salty, and light. They’re good for…

Turkey Burgers
If you ask me … and you didn’t, but I’m saying anyway … every freezer should have a stash of batch-cooked turkey burgers. I know when you think “burger” you don’t automatically think “turkey” in front of that. But that might only be because you’ve never tried them. They’re truly delicious, and so much lower in fat and calories than those made of beef. If you’re following Weight Watchers, these patties are 3 PointsPlus each. Turkey Burgers 3 lbs ground turkey breast (I buy the 4-pack from Costco) 1 TBSP Worcestershire sauce 1 TBSP Tony’s Creole seasoning 1 TBSP minced garlic 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp…
