A few of you asked me for the recipe for Cheesy Bread (as pictured with Turkey Chowder). Not only is this really quick and simple, it’s also a huge hit. There’s never a piece left when I make this. My son could probably eat the entire thing himself, if the rest of us didn’t elbow him away from the plate.
All you need is:
one loaf French or Italian bread
2-3 cups cheese (I use a mix of cheddar and Parmesan)
mayo
garlic powder, salt and pepper
Just mix the cheese(s) with enough mayo to hold it together. Season with a little garlic powder, salt and pepper. Cut the bread in half the long way and spread the cheese mixture evenly over both halves. Broil until brown and bubbly. Enjoy!

We were going to have tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches last night, but I was feeling a little lazy about grilling ALL those sandwiches. Then all of a sudden, I remembered seeing your awesome cheesy bread the other day! It was a HUGE hit and went perfectly with the soup. Thanks!

I’m so glad you liked it, Sonja! It’s definitely a favorite around here. And much easier than grilled cheese! 🙂
