For the despondent, every day brings trouble; for the happy heart, life is a continual feast.
Proverbs 15:15
To read today’s portion of scripture, you can purchase The One Year Bible or find the following in your Bible:

John 9:1-41
Psalm 113:1-114:8
Proverbs 15:15-17
Like so many other verses in scripture, we are here again given a clear choice by God. He is in effect telling us, “When you rise tomorrow, you get to decide: you will face the unknown, unwritten day with a smile, or with a frown. You will respond to setbacks with optimism, or with pessimism. You will make the most of the day, or you will be overcome by it. You will be an agent of positive change, or you will be a victim. You will move forward with hope, or you will step back in fear. No one gets to make that choice for you — it’s yours alone. But you alone will reap the fruit of your choice.”
The beautiful thing about God is that He loves second chances and brand-new-every-morning clean slates. That means no matter what we chose today, we get to start over again tomorrow — and it’s never too late to opt for a happy heart.
