It shouldn’t be raining today. It just shouldn’t. a) it’s Dave’s 50th birthday, and b) we have a double-header softball game in two hours. But I’m not really that surprised, since I just heard that this is the 5th wettest May on record in the Pacific Northwest.
Since it IS raining, I thought I’d pull out some of our favorites and have a repeat day. Here’s what we’re having:
Cabbage Patch Soup, which is what everyone should eat when it’s chilly out. According to me.
Cheesy Bread, which my family likes to dunk in the Cabbage Patch Soup (can you blame them?). Cheesy Bread shows up a lot around here.
And Black-Bottom Cupcakes, just because they’re delicious and easy to transport. These will be going to the softball game with us. If we HAVE to play in a softball game on Dave’s 50th birthday, there WILL be singing and cupcake-eating in the dugout, dagnubbit.
